FEDERAL COMMAND

 

The Federal adjunct of the SWCWA is composed of three distinct military units. Two of these are infantry units the 1st California Infantry and the 1st New Mexico Volunteer Infantry and the third is an artillery unit, the 3rd U. S. Artillery. Each of these units played a critical role in the defense of the New Mexico Territory and the ultimate formation of the Arizona Territory.

Our units faithfully portray the members of these units at various living history events and venues in Arizona, Nevada, California and New Mexico. Additionally, many of our members travel across the country attending large national living history events and making presentations to hundreds of spectators.
